Twente Safety Campus is the meeting place for innovation and development of safety systems. It is a testing ground where practical research and various types of tests can be carried out under realistic conditions.

In close cooperation with the University of Twente, Hogeschool Saxion, ROC van Twente and companies, leading innovative concepts are developed and materials are tested in the Field Lab. In addition, the training ground offers high-quality training courses for the safety sector on every conceivable scale.

Technology Base includes a runway which is managed by Twente Airport. This puts Europe and the rest of the world within easy reach for international businesses. Flying by private jet or a charter flight saves time and boosts effectiveness.

But in addition to offering travel convenience, the facilities and sheer expanse of space alongside the runway mean that Twente Airport is an excellent test site for companies on a quest for innovation. Moreover, it is a unique base for any aviation-related business.

Within the Space53 public-private partnership, start-ups and tech companies work together on testing, training and development related to unmanned systems. They can also make use of a runway, a safety campus and various indoor and outdoor facilities.

Technology Base is a hub for Advanced Materials & Manufacturing: the use of state-of-the-art production techniques in ‘smart factories’ to create advanced materials with intelligent properties and functions. These are subsequently used in the development of new, smart components and systems for markets around the world.
